Heber Springs tops Mayflower in Conway

CONWAY – Parker Brown finished with a game-high 12 points, including seven in the final quarter, as Heber Springs defeated Mayflower, 43-41, in pool play of the St. Joseph Tournament.

Heber Springs led 23-18 at the half and 36-28 at the end of the third quarter.

Heber Springs downs host in tournament

CONWAY – Jaylea Hooten and Molly Smith each scored in double figures as Heber Springs held off the host, Conway St. Joseph, 45-44, at the Family Activities Center in a tournament contest.

Hooten finished with a team-high 15 points while Smith added 10 as the Panthers trailed 8-4 at the end of the first quarter, but battled back to take a 20-19 advantage into the break.

Heber Springs would lead 38-29 at the end of the third quarter before the Bulldogs would keep close the rest of the way.

Conway St. Joseph’s Kaitlyn Kordsmeier led all scorers with 17 points, including four 3-pointers.

Hooten was a perfect seven-for-seven from the free-throw line for the Panthers as Heber Springs finished 13 of 18 on the night.

Panthers hold off Tigers in junior boys play

HEBER SPRINGS – Liam Buffalo finished with 16 points while Jude Herring chipped in with 13 as Heber Springs defeated Pangburn, 45-33, in junior boys action at the Panther Den.

Heber Springs led 15-9 at the half and 33-18 at the end of the third quarter. The Panthers increased their advantage to 17 points in the fourth quarter before the Tigers made a run to get the game back into single digits and forcing coach Jordan Riley to put his starters back into the contest to finish the game.

Pangburn’s Cade Rolland led all scorers with 22 points.

Pangburn drops Heber Springs in junior girls action

HEBER SPRINGS – Heber Springs was held to a single point in the first two quarters and fell, 32-12, to Pangburn in junior girls action at the Panther Den.

Pangburn’s Danielle Baser led all scorers with 10 points as the Tigers, who led 4-1 at the end of the first quarter, outscored the Panthers 10-0 in the second quarter.

The Tigers also led 28-8 at the end of the third quarter.

HEBER SPRINGS – Josiah Riggs finished with 15 points as Heber Springs improved to 5-0 on the season with a 27-9 win over Pangburn in seventh-grade boys basketball action at the Panther Den.

HEBER SPRINGS – Molly Smith finished with 16 points as Heber Springs defeated Southside Batesville, 44-30, in senior girls junior varsity play at the Panther Den.

Heber Springs led 24-15 at the half.

Madison Edington paced the Southerners with 10 points.

HEBER SPRINGS – Southside Batesville defeated Heber Springs, 33-16, in a junior girls contest at the Panther Den.

The Southerners led 15-6 at the break and 23-11 after three quarters.

HEBER SPRINGS – The Heber Springs seventh-grade girls basketball team downed Southside Batesville, 12-8, in action from the Panther Den.

Heber Springs led 10-4 at the half and were paced by Phoebe Reed’s four points.

CONWAY – The second quarter proved the difference as Conway St. Joseph outscored Heber Springs 17-8 and held on for a 37-30 victory in pool play from the St. Joseph tournament at the Family Activities Center.

Heber Springs led 8-6 after the first quarter, but trailed 33-23 heading into the final period.
