Junior Panthers drop two road games

Heber Springs dropped a pair of road contests at Mayflower and Pottsville on Monday and Tuesday.

Against Pottsville on Tuesday, Heber Springs led 14-13 at the end of the first quarter but were outscored, 20-2, in the second quarter and never threatened in the second half.

Bauer Pruitt led the way for the Panthers with 8 points.

Against Mayflower, the Eagles were 20 out of 23 from the free-throw line and handed the Panthers a 52-20 setback.

Heber Springs was 6-of-12 from the line and was led by Eli Riggs’ 6 points.

The Panthers head into the final week of the regular season by traveling to Ozark for a 4A-4 contest tonight. Heber Springs will host Quitman on Monday and Subiaco Academy on Friday in its final home games of the season.

Junior Panthers fall in home opener

Conner Riddle finished with 19 points in a losing effort as Heber Springs dropped its home opener to Nemo Vista, 45-37, in junior boys action Tuesday night at the Panther Den.

Heber Springs (0-2) trailed 16-6 at the end of the first quarter and 27-18 at the half.

Nemo Vista was 8 of 17 from the free-throw line on the night while the Panthers were 7 of 9.

Heber Springs opened its season on Saturday with a 38-17 setback to Greenbrier at the Marshall Junior High Tournament.

Tied at 7-all at the end of the first quarter, Greenbrier outscored the Panthers 15-4 to take control of the game.

Heber Springs was 3 of 13 from the line on the night.
